Pages and Subpages

TechDoc makes organizing your documentation effortless with pages and subpages. Pages serve as the foundation of your documentation, while subpages allow you to further structure your content in a clear hierarchy.

You can create unlimited subpages, and each subpage can have its own subpages, continuing the hierarchy as deep as needed.

One key advantage of pages is that you can maintain versions, helping you track updates and manage different document iterations. This structured approach ensures your documentation remains well-organized and easy to navigate.

1. Creating Pages

Creating a page under a collection is quick and intuitive:

  • Hover over the collection name in the left sidebar.

  • A + sign will appear—click on it to create a new page.

  • Name your page and start adding content.

You can also rearrange pages within a collection using drag-and-drop, making it easy to organize your content.

When renaming a page, you'll also see a page slug option. This lets you modify the URL-friendly version of your page title, ensuring uniqueness and avoiding conflicts when multiple pages have similar names.

2. Creating Subpages

Subpages help break down complex topics into smaller, well-organized sections. You can create as many subpages as needed under a main page.

To create a subpage:

  • Hover over an existing page, and a + sign will appear.

  • Click the +, enter a name, and start adding content.

Like pages, subpages can be rearranged within the same level using drag-and-drop. However, they cannot be moved to a different hierarchical level, ensuring your documentation structure remains intact.

Similarly, when renaming a subpage, the page slug option is available.

Customizing Page Slug allows you to modify the URL while renaming pages, ensuring a clean and unique structure.

With TechDoc’s pages and subpages, your documentation stays structured, easy to navigate, and simple to manage, no matter how large your project grows!
